captain

Elected into position by his crew and has the most authority. Exceptionally skilled with navigating and seamanship, with an undeniable hand in keeping his crew in proper shape.

quarter master

The second in command who, like the captain, was elected into his position by the crew. Looks out for the best interest of the crew by maintaining order.

sailing master

In charge of navigation and directed the course. Probably not the most liked member of the crew given the current situation, but navigating was never easy since most maps were inaccurate anyway.

master gunner

In charge of the ship's guns and ammunition. The Master Gunner has an important job, as he maintains the safety in the weapons on the ship, ensuring they are safe to be used.

boatswain

The head of maintenance in regards to the ship. The boatswain also dropped anchor and handled the sails.

carpenter/ surgeon

Maintained and repaired the ship as needed. Worked under the direction of the Boatswain. Usually the carpenter also served as the surgeon.
