Write a biography for your character. There is a minimum of three paragraphs or fifteen detailed facts.

Have contact pages for in-character and out-of-character interactions. While characters cannot write electronic messages via social networks, they can still write letters to one another.

Have a few icons uploaded. Icons of actors in period clothing are not required, we simply ask you have no modern references in the icons you choose.

After being accepted into the community, you have one week to show proof of life (tagging a thread, posting a thread, posting an OOC introduction or replying to other OOC introductions). Failure to do this will result in removal.

activity

At the end of each month, members are required to submit proof of activity. Threads do not need to be completed but must have at least four replies from that character. Placeholders are not acceptable forms of activity.

We do not mind customs when it comes to threads of sexual content, but keep in mind threads under lock and key will not count as activity. Threads must be visible to the community by being posted in the IC community. You may write scenes via custom or IM as long as the logs are posted within the community.

When posting scenes, be sure to post the basic info (who, where, when, etc) and also post a rating. Scenes with graphic content should have a disclaimer and be friends-locked in the community.

Characters can post messages to one another in the IC community as well. While they can't send text messages to each other, they can certainly send letters!

There is a character limit of four. If a player successfully checks in for two periods of activity with their load of four, a fifth character may be applied with mod approval. Should a player struggle with meeting activity (repetitive requests for extensions, etc.) they may be denied another character. This can change, of course, if they provide the two periods of activity.

removals

Because there are major roles in the community, removals will be handled in ways that keep the game's plot moving. We will drop you a warning one week prior to removals. If you fail to submit activity after that note, and are removed, you have one week following removal to re-apply your character. After that week, members can give input as to whether they want to advertise for a new character or assume the character to go missing and elect an existing character to take their place. For example, if the captain is removed from the community, remaining players can vote to recruit a new captain with a new history or an existing crew member can take over as captain and the former captain is assumed missing.

If a character is removed and a new character is brought in, that new character must have a different name and history from the former.

Things happen and if you want to rejoin with your character, drop us a note! Depending on how your removal was handled by members, you may be able to rejoin with a bit of plot. We'd love to have you back!

Please do not be anxious about the removal process. These actions come after players receive several warnings of activity checks during the month (via the update community) and a notification via a player's ooc drop box. If you've been consistently active and suddenly go MIA, we'll even poke to make sure things are okay. If you ever need an extension or a hiatus, let us know, we're happy to accommodate! :)
